Age of Majority Singers (AOMS) is a community choir directed by Megan Brenneman and accompanied by Julie Armes. It is a SATB choir of young adult singers and those who identify with the community. The choir sings a range of repertoire and performs throughout Waterloo Region.
Our Mission Statement
We are a community choir devoted to creating
a welcoming and accessible space for young adults
to find and share their joy of music.
Our Goals
1) To fill a distinct gap in the community by giving young people with busy lives (students, those with young families, in the workforce, etc.) the opportunity to sing in a choir that demands less time and cost commitment than others in the Waterloo Region.
2) To share music with other local groups and the community through public performances.
3) To commit to building an inclusive environment, welcoming people of all backgrounds.
Our Values
1) Inclusivity
The Age of Majority Singers choir creates an environment where all singers (18+) are welcome, and there are as few barriers to participation as possible
2) Commitment
The Age of Majority Singers choir is committed to creating beautiful and meaningful musical experiences. We work diligently in weekly rehearsals and individual practice, laying the groundwork for an excellent concert experience for singers and audiences alike
3) Community
The age of majority singers foster community and authentic connection within our membership, and the arts community in Waterloo Region
